| Signal whips.... A long-time Happy Tails specialty, these are classic beauties, the icon of the scene. They come in single colors like all-black, two-tone combos, or even tri-color choices; plain or with fancy plaited designs. Nicely shot loaded, not too heavy nor light, for the best control and accuracy. For many people, the sleek tapered look of the signal whip with the braided-in popper, is ideal. It's the way whips "should" look in their imagination. With a signal whip, the braided thong or body of the whip seamlessly extends into the sleek, braided-in cracker tip.
The signal whip originated with arctic dog sled racing, and it had to meet certain official competition criteria, like a maximum length, to be used by mushers during the race. Well, today we make signal whips for many other reasons, so we have developed one that pleases in many ways. Today you can have your choice of length, colors, and number of plaits or strands, like never before. We recommend signal whips for indoor use or wherever space is limited, for targets, and for some tricks. We do NOT recommend you hit hard objects with your whip, as you can damage it. Braided-in black nylon cracker. Both 4 foot and 5 foot lengths shown. 8, 12 or 16 plait. Signal whips are measured from the butt end to the end of the popper. We try to keep a nice inventory of colors and lengths. We also do custom colors and orders. Note: when the crackers wear out on these whips they must be replaced by a whipmaker.
